BBNaija: Erica, Laycon finally reconcile

Former BBNaija housemates, Laycon and Erica have settled their differences.

Erica made this known in a new video on her Instagram page.

Recall that the duo had the biggest fight of the ‘lockdown’ edition which led to Erica’s disqualification.

After the altercation, the hatred between the two ex-housemates lingered even during the reunion show in June.

Although Erica had during the reunion said she doesn’t care about Laycon, the duo have now reconciled.

They were spotted in a video hanging out together on Friday.

In the video, Erica said she was cool with Laycon.

She captioned the video, ‘We are cool.”

Laycon also hailed Nigerians in the footage.

The Singer and actress also followed each other on Instagram.

Meanwhile, a new season of Big Brother Naija will be airing on Saturday, July 24th, 2021.

The winner of the new season will walk away with N90 million worth of prizes.

Former BBNaija housemate, Khafi has confirmed pregnancy rumors.

The reality Tv star in a post on Wednesday confirmed she is pregnant by Gedoni Ekpata.

Recall Gedoni and Khafi’s relationship began in Big Brother Naija house season 4.

They got engaged in December 2019 after Gedoni popped the question during their vacation in Cape Town.

On her Instagram page, alongside a picture with her baby bump, Khafi wrote: “According to some of you have said I have been pregnant for two years . I’m glad to say your predictions have come true.

“I could not be happier.”

Nollywood Filmmaker Narrates How EFCC Officials Broke Into Her Hotel Room At Ungodly Hour

Biodun Stephen, a Nollywood filmmaker, has narrated how some officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) broke into her hotel room in Lagos.

In a post on her Instagram page, the filmmaker expressed shock over the development.

“That is how I slept in a hotel whilst filming last week. Next thing, I open my eyes at a little past 3 am. What did I see? Two men dressed in black weapons. I thought I was dreaming. Then I heard the door to my room close.”

“I sprang up and without thinking shouted: ‘stay right there!!! Who are you!!! They replied: ‘We are EFCC’. My head sparked. Are you kidding me? You enter into my room unannounced?? EFCC: Madam, we knocked but no response. You decided to enter my room?? You should have kept knocking.

“I was sleeping like every normal person would. One just opened his mouth and said: “Where is the man of the room. I was confused at first. The who? He replied: ‘your partner.’

She said one of the officials apologised to her when they realised that she was not the one they were after.

“Anger well up inside me…Is this one roving mad man? His partner realised his folly because he quickly apologised. ‘You are not the one we are looking for.’”

“I watched as they interviewed guests rudely and arrested a few. They knew the people they were after. I lost sleep afterwards. Then I heard, this is the new thing with EFCC.

“They burst into hotel rooms in the middle of the night. Not caring who you are, in what state you are. I mean, the hotel is a really decent one so I couldn’t understand how this could happen. They alleged that the EFCC barrages their way in…A mess I tell you.”

Earlier in the month, the EFCC made the headlines after raiding Parktonian Hotel in Lekki Lagos in search of alleged internet fraudsters.

In response to the backlash over the incident, Wilson Uwujaren, spokesman of the commission, alleged that fraudsters known as “Yahoo Boys” were using naked ladies to distract EFCC officials.

Obi Cubana: How I searched everywhere for job after NYSC

A Nigerian Billionaire businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly called Obi Cubana, has revealed how he sought for employment opportunities after completing the one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.

Obi Cubana, who graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1998, with a degree in Political Science said he could not secure a job after serving the nation in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

He spoke yesterday in an interview with BBC Pidgin following the burial of his mother which became a topic of discussion on social media.

The burial was one of the most attention grabbing public events in the country in recent time, as billionaire young men and women engaged in a show of wealth.

According to him, he was however, able to make his first N1 million through an entrepreneurial venture after failing to secure a job.

“After undergoing my compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme in Abuja, I started searching for a job all to no avail.

“That made me start some small jobs and from there I became a real estate agent. I usually get five percent of every task that is successfully executed. It was along the line that I and my colleagues met a man who asked us to help him furnish his house.

“We did it very well that he gave me N500,000 separately from the profit of N600,000 which I also made from the deal. That made it N1.1 million in total. It was after my NYSC that I made my first one million naira,” he said.

BBNaija: Organisers announces official date for launch of Season 6 housemates

Organisers of Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, have announced the official date for the viewing of Season 6.

In a press conference on Monday, organisers announced that the housemates will be made public to viewers on the 24th of July.

However the opening ceremony will be for two days; 24th and 25th of July.

People in diaspora can watch on the web and vote via applications which will be disclosed at the launch.

The show will run for 72 days.

Biafra: Igbos react as Abba Kyari attends Obi Cubana’s mother’s burial

Nigerians, especially Igbos, have taken to social media criticizing the presence of Abba Kyari at Obi Cubana’s mother’s burial .

Abba Kyari, who is a Deputy Commissioner of Police and leader of the Inspector General of Police’s Intelligence Response Team, was seen at the burial beside Cubana in viral pictures.

This did not go down well with Igbos who accused Kyari of being behind the killing of youths in the east.

Some Nigerians also condemned Obi Cubana for inviting someone who allegedly hates his people to his hometown.

Nollywood actress, Linda Osifo has explained why most women in the movie industry are more successful than their male colleagues.

When asked why women do better, have more cars than the men in the industry, Osifo, speaking during an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Rubbing Minds, said there are so many more avenues for women to make money than men.

According to her, actresses have ambassadorial deals from wig brands, skin care, clothing brands, which is why some of them have more money than men and are able to acquire houses.

Linda said, “As a woman compared to a man I have more options to get more jobs than a man.

“I can advertise hair, wigs, shoes and a wide range of clothes from brands which most men cannot. The ratio of men to women is 1:3 which makes the market wider for us.

“I’ve become a brand ambassador to skincare brands and that’s an industry that men don’t dominate and conquer so this is how women are more successful.

The 29-year-old actress said the mentality of the society that a woman can’t make it on her own is the reason for the rumors that most actresses have illicit affairs.

“I’ve come to understand that society has the mindset that most women can’t succeed on their own. It’s a big problem because there are many women who are doing so much for themselves,” she added.

She noted that social media plays an important role in an actor’s career because we are in a digital world but talent sustains your success.

Sad😢 ‘I don’t want to let him go’, Sound Sultan’s wife wails at husband’s grave

Chichi Morah, wife of late Nigerian singer, Olanrewaju Ganiu Fasasi popularly known as Sound Sultan, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden demise of her husband.

Sound Sultan died after battling with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma.

A family member, Dr. Kayode Fasasi, confirmed his death in a statement released on Sunday.

Following the development, he was buried on the same day at a cemetery in New Jersey, United States, according to Islamic rites.

The legendary singer was buried in the presence of his widow, family, and friends.

His wife, Chichi was seen lying on his coffin and wailing profusely.

She was also heard saying, “I don’t want to let him go, I don’t want to bury him” amidst tears.
